Cultural Resources, Inc. (CRI), established in 1995, is a small business specializing in cultural resource management and historic preservation services. With offices in Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Norfolk, Virginia, CRI serves clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. CRI provides the full range of cultural resource management services to a variety of clients, including property owners; private developers; architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firms; utility, pipeline, and cellular tower companies; and local, state, and federal government agencies.

CRI employs a professional staff with expertise in the fields of archaeology, architectural history, history, historic preservation law, collections management, planning, human osteology, and GIS. Our archaeologists meet state and federal professional standards for archaeological research, laboratory analysis, cultural resource management, and preservation planning. Our staff has considerable academic and practical expertise in conducting historic research, drawing on the resources of numerous repositories, including the National Archives, Library of Congress, state historic preservation offices, university, state, and local libraries, and private foundations.

CRI has a strong commitment to working with clients to fulfill the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. With a strong working relationship with state historic preservation offices and federal agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, CRI offers comprehensive consulting support from identifying cultural resources through full-scale data recovery and the development of cultural resource management plans and memoranda of agreement.
